Every 737 pilot is mortally wounded seeing him power the ELEC HYD pumps prior to selecting ground power 😅😅 it is so unnecessary and out of sequence that it is genuinely offensive 😂

Prior to switching ON Elec hydraulic pumps ensure grd personnel clear of the tow bar OR bypass pin installed. So yes you can put the pumps on. Also because the other pilot needs them on for the walk around to check possible fluid leaks.

Electric hydraulic pumps are AC powered, so generally is preferable to pur them on after putting the GPU on the bus (and not before), in order to avoid inadvertent nose wheel steering, flights controls or flap movement!

That flow is completely different from the one I learned. The Elec HYD pumps are supposed to be off, why pressurising them at this stage???
