If I was the sister I would’ve asked if I didn’t care about the pregnancy how soon can you operate? If the fetus lives it lives if it doesn’t we try again. But my young and grown sister dying I could never put an unknown before her.

It’s confusing if you never had a transplant to understand the process bc it’s so many factors …. The grandma wouldn’t be priority but she waited her time with age factored this girl wasn’t on the list they added her same day grandmas was already scheduled so they can’t renege unless the patient says so bc it’s already allocated …. If she wasn’t already scheduled then that’s different it would’ve went to the girl . But I don’t blame the grandma she could die tomorrow too 🤷🏾♀️

Granny wouldnt get a liver, because her age. And also her attitude right there would be brought into question if she was a good candidate. Had to go througb ALL that for my double lung transplant AND again for a kidney. In reality, granny would not get that liver BUT would get the too of the list status.

Um well even if that granny get that liver she could die in max of 2 months so um she should give it to the 25 year old instead but we don't know how long the 25 year old would last either so it's a hard decision but the right decision would be the granny giving the 25 year old the liver and at least give the 25 year old a chance to live and that granny they said could wait a little longer so honestly she should've gave the liver to the 25 year old.

I work in healthcare and the thing is some people disregard older people just because of their their age. Why should that woman be expected to give up a liver just because that woman is younger than her? That 75 year-old lady could go on to live another 20 years maybe even longer. The younger woman could wind up dying despite getting a new liver. I have had patients that were in their 90s who were still living at home. They just need a little help with some things. There are no guarantees that anyone’s gonna live a long, healthy life. I would not give up my liver either, and if that was my mother, I would not want her to give up the liver just because of other woman is younger
