#onthisday I want to hug her. I want to tell her to hang on tight. Because I know what happens next, but she didn't. My soft voice and approachable smile throughout this reading, just begging someone to notice my heart. To validate my worthiness. I was desperately lonely. A week after I posted this, almost 3 years ago now, my entire world collapsed. With post pardem finally behind me after the birth of my third child, and in the midst of an awakening, I found messages on my husband's phone. Yes. Those kind of messages. And what at first was just one, turned out to be many. In the blink of an eye, reality as I knew it ceased to exist. My entire identity was formed around being a wife and mother, and it felt like I had failed at both. The months following are blurred. My husband didn't appreciate the way I reacted to his infidelity and I quickly became a pariah; Going through the motions, trying to facilitate some kind of normalcy in a life I no longer recognized. I didn't cope well. Within the next six months my husband was hospitalized twice for separate heart conditions resulting in a defibrillator, his father died, and our home was raided by a SWAT team that took my children with them. Healing hasn't been linear, as it rarely is. And when the tiktok archive tosses an 'on this day' up, I am regularly confronted with myself and the version of me that didn't know, yet. It's an exercise in bringing all parts of me together: past, present, and future. Because I can give her a hug. I can hold her and honor her, and tell her that it will all make sense, eventually. ✨️🕯🔥
