They need to get over it. Christmas isn’t about the actual date. But the feeling. Whole family of health care workers. Sometimes we don’t even get together until the end of December.

we do it often ive always worked in hospital environment, christmas is about family being together, but also it's about thinking s about others who are to sick to make it home or it may be their last christmas on a busy hospital ward, I gladly give my time while doing my job to care and show compassion for those who need me, I go home to my children at the end of my shift, and if I leave a busy ward with just making one patient smile and feel safe and cared for my job is done. my family understand. ❤️

grew up in a healthcare family for generations! This is ok and normal to us! My step dad always was at holidays with partner and squad! Our families loved each others families

yep we are celebrating it Sunday. Bc it doesn't matter what day, Christmas is about being together not being together on a specific day knowing some are left out. Insane mentality to me, wrong priorities

I’ve always done shift work. My parents got very used to doing the holidays on the days I was off. Now I’ve moved to a community health clinic and I actually have weekends and holidays off! It’s insane!

Yes my family moved celebrating Christmas every year since I had my daughter. We simply refuse to celebrate without her (split custody). But they never made me feel guilty about it. It was just a fact of life that couldn't be changed.

yes Thanksgiving would be the week before or after since my parents live in a different town. and my cousin who I lived with the meal time would be early so I can eat with them before going in to work .

We would. Our granddaughter has rotating holiday shifts. She is an aquarist and animals needs care every day, even holidays. We have been fortunate in that her colleague usually chooses to work Christmas but in the event she was working we would adjust. There may come a day when her career takes her further than she or we can travel for any specific holiday so we are not going to quibble days when we can all gather now.
