So, my mom had Alzheimer’s. She spent years and years and years disliking someone. Couldn’t stand her. Saw right through her. But had to tolerate her. This person came to see my mom a few months before she died. My mom was mostly nonverbal by this point. At the end of the visit she gathered all her strength and said “I…..Don’t…..Like…..YOU..” It was beautiful. Just completely awesome. After years of fighting dementia and losing her ability to talk, she said THAT. My sister and I were witnesses to it and we felt so happy she finally got to say it. You go Mama.

I don't have dementia, but I had brain damage for 15 years. I now can remember those who were unkind to me. When they approach me now, I ignore them. Pretend I don't know them. I m prepared to say "You look familiar, but not in a good way."

Pro tip from my hater mom with dementia: use post-it notes around the phone to remind you who you’re mad at so you won’t answer their calls.

My mom has dementia. She was chronically and profoundly depressed the entirety of my life. She was also demanding and always upset because somebody, everybody wasnt doing enough for her. Her dementia reached a state where she woke up one day and forgot to be angry and demanding and pissed off. Its been the most delightful 2 years. 🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰

I'm gonna make sure and keep a burn book because you can definitely forget! My narcissist mom hated me since forever and then she got dementia and suddenly was asking why I didn't visit her and telling people she missed me. Yah, not today satan.
