@viralsanctuarysports: Dillon Brooks was having his best game of the season. Then he kicked Jamal Murray in the groin and got thrown out of it. Brooks led the Suns with 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting when, midway through the third quarter of the NBA Cup opener in Phoenix, he fell backward on a turnaround jumper and kicked his right leg out into Murray. It was called an offensive foul, reviewed, and upgraded to a Flagrant 2. Automatic ejection. The wild part? Murray did not even hold it against him. Murray, who stayed in and finished with 39 points, said after the game he did not think the kick was intentional and called Brooks his buddy. The two are teammates on the Canadian national team. Denver won 127-120. Referee Tyler Ford said Brooks "overtly" kicked Murray. Brooks says nothing yet, but his reputation speaks first: fair call or did the villain tax strike again?
