Half of what you described as the IQ 70 experience covers executive function, not intellect. IQ measures intellect, not executive function. For example, working memory (part of EF) is what allows them to retain instructions #1-4 while reading #5-6. Time perception, time management, & future planning (all closely tied to EF) is what allows them to “see” tomorrow and next week or year rather than them being blurry. This means neurodivergent people (especially ADHD and/or autism) with a high or very high IQ frequently both have those experiences. Me included. And if there are people in the gifted, highly gifted, & profoundly gifted IQ range with severe executive dysfunction, I’m curious if there are people with low & very IQ with relatively high executive function…?

Ngl I’ve taken iq test and I land around 117-120s and if someone told me to cut a cake into 3 I’d also be confused on those instructions
