This is not just the case in England. In most of Europe, home cooking is probably the norm. Prices in Europe and Korea are not in line. Europe is expensive in terms of food in many countries. Europe countries grow a lot of things. But for example, if I just look at seafood, not everywhere in Europe has a sea. Maybe England also imports these products. In the northern European country those who border the sea or ocean have a greater chance of fishing. Large supermarkets can be found in every European country. Tesco, Auchan, Lidl, Aldi, etc.

Going out for meals is so expensive in the Uk. For what you pay for a that you could buy food from the supermarket that would make quite a few meals at home.

I love cooking and trying different recipes! It’s my favorite me time activity 🥳 but I agree, eating out is very expensive here so naturally we prefer cooking more in the UK. Thanks for comparing two different cultures and countries, waiting for new video!!^^

In the Netherlands cooking at home is way more affordable too, but if it wasn’t as expensive I’d prefer take away or eating out since I do live alone and I don’t enjoy cooking for just me 😂

I didn't add that, for example, a restaurant here is very expensive, even for one person. If I look at it in comparison to the local salary. It's cheaper if you cook at home. But! there are restaurants where you can order a fixed They put together a "plate". It has roasts for 2-3 people, with different side dishes. This varies from restaurant to restaurant. You can usually choose from several types of plates. Some have only chicken meat, some have only pork meat and vegetable there is also a bowl. This is probably the cheapest restaurant meal. After all, a bowl costs about half or ⅔ of the price of food consumed in restaurants.

Great observation. I prefer to cook my own food. In the U.K, eating out and ordering food is expensive.

I've lived in the U.K., in the French colony of Martinique in the Caribbean as well as in mainland France. When there isn't much of a price difference between eating out or buying groceries to cook for yourself (in Martinique, both are atrociously expensive) I cook more if I'm not pressed for time unless it's something I'm not comfortable cooking. In the U.K. I was definitely cooking more than ever before. I rarely ever ate out. In mainland France, things have shifted a lot over the years and depending on which corner of France you're in. As a student in Paris, I was eating out more than I was cooking... but that was 30 years ago. Now, it depends on many factors (I'm somewhere else in France).

Meta has built a prototype humanoid robot called Max in collaboration with Chinese robotics startup Fourier Intelligence. The partnership, reported by The Information, marks a major acceleration in Meta's domestic and household robotics push. Core Specifications of 'Max' The initial prototype was engineered over a rapid three-month development cycle: Physical Dimensions: Stands approximately 1.5 meters (nearly 5 feet) tall and weighs 106 pounds (48 kg). Hardware Features: Equipped with five-fingered hands for object manipulation, built-in speakers, and a face display capable of mimicking human expressions. Max 2 Development: The companies immediately began developing a second version, "Max 2," in September 2026. This iteration will introduce a redesigned torso, upgraded hands, a projector, and additional navigation sensors to tackle complex environments like stairs. Research Focus: Meta stated that the collaboration is strictly for internal research and experimentation; there are currently no immediate commercial release dates or plans to sell the units to consumers. Operational Footprint: The project reflects an aggressive sourcing strategy. Executives from Meta's robotics division, including VP of Product for Robotics Li-Chen Miller, spent nearly two months embedded at Fourier's factory in Shanghai to fast-track the hardware build. #new #meta #build #fast #chinese
