@letscaulkaboutit: SPOILER ALERT: Two years later, this vanity still passes the scratch test I’d already gone through the sand, prime, paint, repeat nightmare with my kitchen cabinets, and I was not about to do that again on a small vanity. So I tested a paint that said no sanding or priming was necessary. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a disaster. The first coat had me questioning every life choice, but by the second coat it was looking like a brand-new vanity. Add fresh hardware, and suddenly I was wondering why I’d put this off so long. One thing to know: dry doesn’t mean cured. The Paint says to give it 5–7 days or more for its initial cure, and up to 30 days to fully cure. Don’t judge the durability too soon.
