@sylvestercartwright: Word of the Day: Testimony A testimony is a declaration or account of what someone has witnessed or experienced. But when I look at this word through the eyes of faith, it means something much deeper. It is telling the world what God has done in your life. It is evidence of His goodness, His mercy, His grace, and His faithfulness. It is one thing to hear about the goodness of the Lord, but it's something altogether different when you can stand flat-footed and say, "I know for myself what the Lord has done!" This word takes me straight to that song by Terrain: "I am a living, breathing, walking testimony. I am the living proof of what the Lord has done." And Lord, have mercy, that song speaks to my soul! When I consider my own life, I don't have to look very far to find a testimony. I think about the little boy who grew up in North Little Rock, Arkansas raised by a praying mother who did the best she could with what she had. I think about the difficult days, the disappointments, the losses, and the seasons when I didn't know how things would turn out. But through it all, God kept me! He brought me through heartache, carried me through grief, opened doors I couldn't open myself, and gave me strength when I had very little left. I am not standing here because I've always gotten everything right. I'm standing here because God has never stopped being faithful! Psalm 66:16 says, "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul." That's what a testimony is all about. It's not about bragging on ourselves; it's about giving God the glory. It's not about pretending we never stumbled, cried, doubted, or made mistakes. It's about telling somebody that even when we stumbled, His grace caught us. Even when we cried, He comforted us. Even when we couldn't see a way forward, He made a way. Somebody needs to hear that your testimony is not just what happened yesterday; it's what God is still doing in your life today! So, as I reflect on this word, I can say with a grateful heart that Ole Sylvester is a living, breathing, walking testimony! I'm not a finished product, and I certainly don't have all the answers. But I have a Savior who has carried me for more than fifty years of walking with Him. My hair may be gone, my knees may need a little extra encouragement, and my memory may occasionally take a vacation, but my testimony is still intact! 😂🙌🏾 And if the Lord has been good to you, don't keep it to yourself. Tell somebody! Let your life be the evidence. Let your words give Him praise. Because somebody may be going through what God has already brought you through. I am the living proof of what the Lord has done, and as long as I have breath in my body, I will keep telling my story. All glory belongs to God! 🙏🏾❤
