کبھی کبھی انسان زندگی سے نہیں، بس زندگی کے رویّوں سے تھک جاتا ہے۔ وہ لوگوں سے بات بھی کرتا ہے، ہنستا بھی ہے، محفلوں میں بیٹھ کر خود کو زندہ بھی ثابت کرتا ہے، مگر اس کے اندر کہیں ایک ایسی جگہ ہوتی ہے جہاں برسوں سے خاموشی پڑی ہوتی ہے۔ عجیب بات ہے نا، ہم ساری زندگی کسی ایسے شخص کی تلاش میں گزار دیتے ہیں جس کے سامنے ہمیں مضبوط ہونے کا ڈرامہ نہ کرنا پڑے، جو ہماری خاموشی کو بھی اتنی ہی محبت سے سنے جتنی ہماری باتوں کو سنتا ہے۔ مگر پھر ایک وقت آتا ہے جب ہم کسی سے شکایت کرنا بھی چھوڑ دیتے ہیں، کیونکہ سمجھ آ جاتا ہے کہ ہر شخص کو اپنا درد سنایا تو جا سکتا ہے، مگر ہر شخص اسے محسوس نہیں کر سکتا۔ اور پھر ہم آہستہ آہستہ بدلنے لگتے ہیں؛ کم بولتے ہیں، کم امید رکھتے ہیں، اور چھوٹی چھوٹی باتوں پر خوش ہونا بھول جاتے ہیں۔ شاید بڑے ہونے کا سب سے بڑا دکھ یہی ہے کہ ایک دن انسان کو کسی کے چھوڑ جانے سے زیادہ، اپنے اندر سے خوشی کے چلے جانے کا افسوس ہونے لگتا ہے #poetry #vintage_vibes

I was devastated to find out that the beautiful Baraka, a Critically Endangered Black Rhino who I had the privilege of meeting back in 2024, passed away yesterday. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life being so close to such a powerful, yet vulnerable animal. I was in awe of the selfless commitment and dedication of the many rangers at the conservancy, who literally put their lives on the line to protect these magnificent creatures. The nine species of moa that WERE in Aotearoa New Zealand! 🦤 Now extinct, these birds once towered over people and could be found all over the country from coastal regions to freezing alpine environments! Although researching for this video I didn’t realise they could be 3.5 meteres tall! Seeing as how I’m 6’8” that’s even taller than me! 👀 and also didn’t quite realise how small some species were! Also I don’t know why I said bushy moa, must have seen that somewhere but have corrected it with a few of the other more common names. There is chat of creating a moa-type species that could fill their role in the environment, would you want that? Let me know! Cheers!
