The Mahmods were a strictly traditional Kurdish family. Mahmod Babakir Mahmod & his wife Behya had a son & 5 daughters. The family sought asylum in the United Kingdom in 1995 when Banaz was 10 years old. At age 16/17, Banaz was forced into an arranged marriage with a man from the family hometown of Qaladiza. By her account he was 10 years her senior, illiterate & old-fashioned; she described his mindset as something from "50 years prior". She came into contact with police throughout her marriage, reporting that she had been rap3d & b3aten on multiple occasions. Her family were aware of the vi0lence inflicted upon her, but told her that leaving her husband would bring shame on them. She eventually left after 2 years of marriage; she returned to the family home in July 2005 & started a relationship with someone of her own choosing by the name of Rahmat Sulemani. On 2 December 2005, a meeting was held at the home of Ari Agha Mahmod where it was agreed that both should be killed for bringing shame onto the family and the community. On 22 January, an attempt was made to kidnap Rahmat Sulemani. Both she & Rahmat separately reported the incident & Banaz was scheduled to return to the police station on 24 January, but she never arrived. On the morning of 24 January 2006, Banaz's parents left the family home to take their youngest daughter to school and go shopping, leaving Banaz asleep in the lounge. Mohamad Marid Hama, Mohammed Saleh Ali & Omar Hussain arrived at the property, the trio subjected Banaz to more than 2 hours of rap3 & t0rture before she was strangl3d with a ligature. Banaz's body was put in a suitcase, transported to a house in Handsworth, Birmingham & buried in the garden. On 25 January 2006, Banaz was reported missing. Her parents & uncle were interviewed and their homes searched. Banaz's father & uncle, were arrested. On 4 February 2006, Mohamad Marid Hama was charged with murd3r. He directly implicated Banza’s uncle, Ari Agha Mahmod & her cousins, Mohammed Saleh Ali, Omar Hussain & Dana Amin. Her body was found on 28 April 2006. On 1 May 2006, Banaz's uncle Ari Agha Mahmod was charged with murd3r. Banaz was laid to rest at Merton and Sutton Joint Cemetery, Morden; her family left her grave unmarked. In June 2007, Banaz' father & uncle were unanimously found guilty of murd3r & sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 20 & 23 years respectively; Mohammad Hama pleaded guilty to murd3r shortly after the start of the trial and was sentenced to life, with a minimum term of 17 years In November 2010, Mohammed Saleh Ali & Omar Hussain were found guilty of murd3r & sentenced to serve at least 22 & 21 years respectively. In December 2013, Dana Amin was found guilty & jailed for 8 years for helping to dispose of Banaz's body. #crime #truecrime #crimetoks #crimejunkie #crimetiktoks #truecrimetok #crimetiktok #crimejunkies #truecrimetiktok #crimetok #crimestories #crimetiktoker
Yellowstone National Park officials have confirmed they will not euthanize the bison that seriously injured a grandfather during a viral attack, saying the animal will remain in the park and that no management action will be taken. The decision follows last week’s incident in which the bull charged Carl Isom-McDaniel, tossing him several feet into the air and causing multiple broken bones that required surgery. The dramatic encounter, captured on video by wildlife photographer Mike MacLeod, quickly spread across social media. MacLeod said he stopped recording as soon as he saw the grandfather thrown into the air so he and others could rush in to scare the bison away and help the injured man. According to MacLeod, neither McDaniel nor his grandson appeared to provoke the animal. Earlier that day, the same bison had reportedly charged a group of teenagers before encountering the grandfather and his grandson at the campground. MacLeod said the pair tried to move away after noticing the bison acting aggressively, but the animal suddenly charged them. After the attack, he said McDaniel’s first concern was whether his grandson had been hurt. Thankfully, the boy escaped without injuries. The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with many people expressing surprise because the victims were not seen approaching or harassing the bison. Others praised the grandfather for protecting his grandson during the attack. Yellowstone reminds visitors to stay at least 25 yards away from bison at all times. The massive animals can weigh up to 2,000 pounds, run nearly 30 mph, and are especially unpredictable during mating season.#fyp #viral
