IMO, both sides are valid. Eunhyuk left without Soo-ae knowing, which hurt her deeply, she even waited outside his house in the freezing snow. Naturally, meeting him again after 10 years, she resents him so much. When Eunhyuk tries to explain what happened, she shuts him down because she's terrified it will only hurt her more.
However, Eunhyuk didn't have a choice at the time. He had to leave because of his family circumstances. He actually tried to tell Soo-ae, but the Jelly Pop interfered. At such a young age, he had to carry the weight of his father's mistakes and cope with losing his mother to suicide and alcoholism. Two years after leaving, he tried to return to Soo-ae, but seeing how happy she looked with her life, he didn't want to ruin it with his depression. And it's really hard for him to open up. I know depression shouldn't be used as an excuse to justify his poor communication with Soo-ae, but it’s genuinely hard when you’re dealing with depression. You just can't control it.
In the end, it’s the author's fault for dragging out the story with all this ambiguity instead of focusing on the main plot (Jelly Pop). It really should have ended with Season 1.
