@jaschintaz: I was just in Bhutan last week, and I got really lucky with the weather because it was raining the week before and the week after (this week), and sadly on top of that the glacial lake outburst has resulted in damaging floods 😢 I was commenting nonstop to my guide that the colour of the river is so beautiful. It was so blue and clear and my guide said that it’s only this colour in winter as less erosion and sediments make their way into the river during the drier months. When I saw videos of the floods my heart sank because in the Punakha Dzong area - which you can see in this video - the river water was muddy. I texted my contacts there and they said thankfully there have been no casualties, but there has been infrastructure damage and loss of cattle lives 😢😢 Praying it all goes uphill from here for Bhutan! 🙏🏼🇧🇹🧡💛 For those who’d like to visit Bhutan and need a guide, I booked my private tour (inclusive of return flights) with Kin Gu Tours | ✉️ [email protected] | 🔗 www.kingutours.com 🧡💛 #bhutan #punakha #mochhu #bhutanflood #punakhadzong
