@the_jwl: Want to become a complete centre midfielder? ⚽️🔥 If you play in the middle of the park, these 4 attributes can help you stand out and take your game to the next level. 1️⃣ Receive on the back foot 👟 One of the most important skills for a centre midfielder. Scan your shoulders before receiving and use your back foot to open your body up and play forwards. Practise receiving on both feet so you’re comfortable whichever way the ball arrives. 2️⃣ Master your turns 🔄 Don’t just receive and pass. Add different turns to escape pressure and create space. Try a simple drill of pass, receive, turn and pass again. Complete 10 repetitions, changing your turn each time and gradually increasing the tempo. 3️⃣ Develop your passing range 🎯 A top midfielder needs more than short, simple passes. Work on both your grass cutter and ping pass so you can switch play, break defensive lines and find teammates making runs in behind. 4️⃣ Add goals to your game 🥅 Don’t rely solely on creating chances for others. Practise finishing around the box, including curling shots into the far corner and disguising a reverse finish into the near post. 🎯 The key? Combine excellent receiving, awareness, passing range and end product. Great centre midfielders don’t just keep possession — they control games, create chances and score goals! #CentreMidfielder #MidfieldTraining #FootballTips #FootballDevelopment #FootballCoaching
