They’re not. You’re not going to be able to sell like that. I read something about it and basically you won’t be able to

That’s why they are called exchanges, people buying people selling it’s liquidity if people stop buying the liquidity stops . The exchanges say no liquidity in the market , always sell before it tops

It could become a problem—much like the current situation with banks, where they don’t actually hold their clients' money on-site.
They will likely have to place limits on amounts until the new system is fully implemented.
And it would need to have intrinsic value, like gold, silver, oil, etc.

This is going to be a big problem for exchanges when everybody is cashing out. First, send your crypto to an exchange of your choice, then sell for fiat. Wait for it to be sold, then the exchange will send the transaction to your own bank. But make sure you have a valid bank account. That's where you can withdraw your money from but make sure you inform your bank ahead of time that you are expecting a million of money from your exchange. The bank will hold it until the money is cleared. It might take weeks or months before you can withdraw. For small amounts, it's not problem but for large amounts it requires verification.

can only sell if there's a buyer. someone or multiple buyers are buying that xrp while you are selling at that price. the idea is institutional buyers will be buying it to be used in their business transactions and held on their corporate balance sheets. the exchanges don't need the reserves. they just facilitate the trade. money for asset

my question:
is the only value to cold wallets, to be able to complete P2P transactions. If you have millions worth of crypto on a cold wallet and exchanges collapse, you still have no where to cash out...

This has to be the dumbest question I have ever heard. Does this guy not know that trillions in stocks, bonds, derivitives, comodities and real estate are settled every single day? For every seller there has to be a buyer. If everyone sold at one time, only some of the transactions would go through at the $1,000.00 price. There would most likely be a price drop as well. If you were not willing to drop your price to match the market, your XRP just would not be sold. Just like a stock, no difference.
