worked for the company for 5 years as a SSV. I told my manager I'm going back to school and let her know what days and times I needed off, only a few days a week, and she told me to step down or transfer. mind you she had put me through absolute hell and was willing to let me unalive on the floor when I had pneumonia. Turns out she was trying to push me out by any means possible bc the partners were starting to trust me more than her with their work issues.

I put in my 2 weeks 4 days before the new schedule came out. My DM sent out an email to all district stores saying someone “quit with immediate notice” like girl I’m doing my 2 weeks and all my current scheduled shifts i gave my notice on a Friday for a reason. She also knew i was doing manager duty’s as a shift and mentally draining myself. So glad i left and good for you!

I had a similar experience (not at a Starbucks, but abusive manager situation all the same), though he “fired” me when I refused to stay 3 weeks instead of 2. Um, okay, thanks? 😆

I’ve worked in various cafes for years, I decided to switch to sbux and got hired as a ssv and I have been having terrible carpal tunnel pain because of this place and how often I bar and was treated like absolute crap, pulled off the floor DURING peak because I was “negative and hard to work with”. Mind you I was doing drive bar like an absolute boss despite being in excruciating pain. I just wasn’t as talkative and engaging with my team as I usually was. I had been trying to get into the doctor but my CL denied my request off and I rescheduled. He had the audacity to tell me I know it’s probably because you’re in pain and I said yeah it is it’s incredibly frustrating and he was like I don’t know what to tell you other than you should probably see a doctor. 😑 I called out the next two days. FAAFO. I cannot wait to quit

I gave two weeks (on great terms with everyone) and my manager was pissed and purposefully scheduled me three weeks out and said if I didnt work the last week or get it covered that I would be unrehireable
