@businessblurb: Chamath explains how the entire US economy became levered to the “AI complex,” which is now competing with the Treasury for capital: “The entire United States economy is levered to the AI complex. So very narrowly, we’re talking about seven or eight companies that sets the tone for the entire country. And whether we like it or not, that is where we are.” Via: @the all-in podcast #ai #Tech #usa #business #future
Apple is like, “Nah! I’m good. I’ll wait for the development of a small model that runs locally.” That’s when these companies will crash.

A.I. Bubble burst will be biggest in tech history. 90%+ will crash & burn, & a few will survive & thrive. Apple is smart to skip this Ponzi Scheme level of insane investing, especially when Open Source A.I. & startups will offer A.I. almost free. 😳

This looks like 2007/2008 with the financing - except AI this time instead of real estate. 🥺 Apple seems like the safest bet.

The underlying narrative that Big Tech is universally "depleting its cash and levering up" is contradicted by corporate balance sheets.

No way :
And yet, China bills out AI at 1/5 the cost with nearly the same results in quality output. Then the world finds China AI to be more attractive, and that includes most of Europe, Canada and Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the rest of developing world. The US with its high cost, AI is not competitive. The AI bubble implosion is limited to the US.

If US fails in AI race then it will be start of empire decline. Remember US benefited from all booms since ww2 and it kept its super power empire status. Without all the finance, money attracted by booms, this empire will crumble on its own weight.

Ai and American economy both run on debt. The American people will have to pay the price for it whereas the billionaire class will keep getting richer.

I mean, yeah…but no duh. These are the same companies that have been in that position for the last decade and more. It’s just more obvious lol. And our attachment and dependence on them as consumers is more enmeshed now. That’s the only difference
