@wvdailynews: TEXAS SENATE 2026: JAMES TALARICO LEADS IN 6 OF 7 POLLS, BUT KEN PAXTON IS STILL IN THE FIGHT! A comparison of seven recent Texas Senate polls shows Democrat James Talarico holding an advantage in six surveys, while Republican Ken Paxton leads in just one. This is an encouraging pattern for Democrats in a state that has traditionally leaned Republican in statewide elections. However, the race remains competitive, and Paxton is still within striking distance. The strongest result for Talarico comes from YouGov, where he leads Paxton by 51% to 43%—an eight-point advantage. CNN/SSRS also gives Talarico a six-point lead at 49%-43%. Meanwhile, Univision/ YouGov shows him ahead 50%-45%, and A2 Insights reports a 50%-47% advantage. These results suggest that Talarico is performing well across several different polling organizations. However, there is a different picture in the Quantus Insights poll, where Paxton leads 49%-48%. This is the only survey in the comparison showing Paxton ahead, demonstrating that the Republican candidate remains competitive. Emerson also shows a relatively close contest, with Talarico at 48% and Paxton at 46%, while Ted Brown receives 1%.
