Z&R’s Dad :
Messy is fine… when it’s affordable. If I’m paying 2 to 3 grand for a product, I want something polished; not messy.

No one said they want a touchscreen laptop in fact Steve Jobs said it was a terrible idea. We wanted more memory.

I can’t get over the fact that they sell that as A PRO computer. That feature is useless. It’s so goofy and unserious. I can’t take them seriously with this touchscreen stuff. It’s so detached from what professional need and want.

But the real truth is that instead doing what they need to do - make their devices a little bit more affordable - they are throwing useless things in there to make it more expensive.

Vision Pro, Duo, touchscreen Mac... they could only fake it for so long and now we're all seeing it. Still make good products, just not innovating the way the used to.

Apple has lost any reliability that their devices will simply WORK

“…this company has been so locked down, and so risk adverse, for so long…” Seemd to have been working for them, why would they change now? This MacBook with a touchscreen is dumb.

I don’t think it’s great. Apple was pricey for being polished and perfected. Messy is fine, but not at this price point.

they are expanding hardware options when chip prices make normal upgrade cycles unappealing

It’s not great it demonstrates they are off the reservation and desperation has set in as they wildly release products which are not thought through and are not even current technologies. Apple are known for reliability and yet we see iPhone folds breaking en mass and laptops having features in no one wanted. As a huge user of Apple gear as well as windows systems this doesn’t bode well.

iphone 18 is boring, touchscreen mac is confusing, but iphone duo has potential, but yup its clearly very bad transition period for apple

All they had to do was make an iPad that runs macOS. They were so close but dropped the ball

I have a touchscreen laptop for work and I forgot I can touch the screen. And it’s true, it’s not a good angle to be touching for more than a second, let alone for hours. It’s not an iPad.
