@nurhabits: how can the adhan travel around the earth faster than sound? 🌍 maghrib begins where the sun sets, and the sunset line slides west by 15° of longitude every hour. near the equator that's about 1,670 km/h; sound in air manages about 1,236 km/h. so the wave of maghrib adhans outruns its own sound across most of the muslim world (up to about 41° north or south, not in london). on 1 november 2026: jakarta 17:47 → dhaka 17:19 → mecca 17:45 → istanbul 18:07 → london 16:34 (local maghrib times). and it's five lines, not one: fajr, dhuhr, asr, maghrib and isha all slide west together, every day. (lines drawn with common angles: fajr 18°, isha 17°, asr at one shadow length; methods and madhhabs differ by a few minutes) send this to someone who still gets goosebumps at the adhan.
