I work 7pm-7am. I get to the barn at 7:30 and ride before it gets too hot in Florida. This would not work for people with jobs 🫡

If somebody’s boarding a horse at your property, they should have a right to go check on them at any time…

If you want access to your horse 24/7 then keep it on your own property. 😂

I work at a dog boarding facility and we have pick up and drop of hours and we will not accept or release your dog outside of those hours. Period. The entitlement is insane. Every business has policies and procedures and this is no different.

[Tears of joy] People’s reaction to this is so insane. They’ve probably never been to the barn before 9am or after 9pm but freaking out just because you said they can’t. Like obviously if you need to be there outside of those times, go somewhere else 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn’t like the hours either because it wouldn’t work for me, however I’m not boarding with her and I think anyone who would potentially board with her would have to abide by it. She’s get to make the rules on her property and business. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I find it so funny that people think a 12 hour window of being able to be at the barn isn't enough for them 🤣 the reining barn I worked for was maybe a 6 hour window and you also weren't allowed to be there unless the owner/manager was there because you'd be real surprised on how workers get treated when the owner isn't there!

only 12 hour access to your horse a day is crazy to me. But it’s her barn her property. As long as people know before they board that’s up to them

I’ve moved to 7 different states for work and in almost every single one of those states there was a barn with hours… OBVIOUSLY if there was an emergency there would be an exception but be so fucking for real… when do you need to be at a barn outside of those hours.

I saw a comment on that post saying something like, "oh I wouldn't board at your place". I mean okay....? That sounds like such an entitled comment. And sooo unnecessary. I can't easily describe how stupid that comment was but I am sure you understand.😂

I payed extra at one barn years ago to have my 2 horses in a pasture alone together because I was tired of fighting other horses to get mine out. it got dangerous quick and it ls a liability for ALL barns! forever thankful my horses are home now lol. I 100% appreciate the heck outta you for that rule lol.

unless it's an emergency situation I'd assume ppl shouldn't need to get to their horse that far out at random times during the night or early morning hours 🤣

I need some people to understand that they might own the horse but they don’t own for the property that they are on

We had a motorcyclist due from hitting a horse. It is that serious. If people don't like it, they should go elsewhere lol

When I ran a barn I had to have a similar rule. I didn’t mind if they were going to a show and needed to be early but they would let me know. But when you live at the barn and people show up at 11pm to do their horse. Also it’s a security reason, I would lock up at a certain time so I couldn’t be open all hours.

Yea we have 9 am to 9pm. We live on the property. It’s a liability as well if someone gets hurt and then that have to lay there all night and no one knows they are even there. As well as we feed before the 9pm opening so it gives the horses time to eat before their owner comes to ride them.

First, why do you need to be at the barn outside of VERY normal hours? I’m also sure from the vibes I’m getting you’re a reasonable person. Say if I needed to pick my horse up outside of those hours to go horse show and I simply asked ahead of time you’d be totally fine with it. OR in the case of an emergency or colic I’m sure the owner would be allowed after hours…but as a general rule 9am to 9pm…I don’t understand why anyone would be bothered by that 🤦‍♀️people forget most barns are also people’s homes. I wouldn’t want people coming and going at all hours at my house so why should a barn owner be expected to live like that? Anyway…good for you!

i think you're missing the point. it's not about recreationally going to check on their horse, it's that there can be a health emergency or saftey emergency to no fault of you nor the owner nor the horse. for example, my uncle had a 4 y/o horse, assumingly healthy boarded at a barn that closed at 6pm. he was taking care of the horse and felt like his horse was acting strange. owners pushed him out because it was past 6pm. his horse dropped dead by 8pm, only noticed by a barn hand after it was too late. if he had the time he might've been able to save that horse.
