Proper prayer means performing the five daily prayers on time, in a state of purity, facing the qiblah, with the intention and humility. It begins with the opening takbir, reciting al-Fatihah and another surah, then bowing and prostrating with calm composure, and sitting for the two tashahhuds (in the three- and four-rak'ah prayers) or one (in Fajr), ending with the taslim—following the Prophet’s guidance [“Pray as you have seen me pray.”]. Steps of proper prayer (from the takbir to the taslim): Preparation: wudu, covering the ‘awrah, and facing the qiblah. Intention: intend the specific prayer in your heart without saying it out loud. Opening takbir: say “Allahu Akbar” while raising the hands level with the shoulders. Standing and recitation: recite al-Fatihah in every rak'ah, and whatever you can from the Qur’an in the first two rak'ahs. Bowing: bow while placing the hands on the knees, and say “Subhana Rabbiyal-‘Azim” three times, with composure. Rising from bowing: stand upright and say “Sami‘a Allahu liman hamidah,” then “Rabbana wa laka al-hamd.” Prostration: prostrate on the seven body parts (the forehead and nose, the two palms, the two knees, and the toes), with composure, and say “Subhana Rabbiyal-A‘la” three times. Sitting between the two prostrations: sit and say “Rabbighfir li.” Tashahhud: recite the tashahhud in the second sitting (the second rak'ah) and the final sitting (the last rak'ah), and recite the Ibrahimic prayer in the final tashahhud. Taslim: turn to the right and say “As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah,” then to the left likewise. The pillars of prayer (it is not valid without them): Standing when able (in obligatory prayers). The opening takbir. Reciting al-Fatihah. Bowing. Rising from bowing. Prostrating on the seven body parts. Rising from prostration. Sitting between the two prostrations. Composure (stillness in every pillar). Performing the pillars in order. The final tashahhud. Sitting for the final tashahhud. Sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him). The two taslims. Sunnah and recommended acts of prayer: raising the hands at bowing, at rising from it, and when standing for the third rak'ah. Placing the right hand over the left on the chest while standing. The opening supplication after the opening takbir. Reciting whatever you can from the Qur’an after al-Fatihah in the first two rak'ahs. Important notes: Composure (calm, stillness, and not rushing) is a core pillar in bowing, prostration, and standing. You must observe “order,” meaning performing the pillars in the sequence mentioned.#قران #قران_كريم #اجر_لي_ولكم #quran #سنابات_عبدالرحمن_المطيري
