@calderdune: You’ll still be the only thing I ever needed you to be. I had so much fun making this one. My edits are rarely “flashy”, but focused on honing in on the narrative threads that make these movies so special to me. There were two things I really loved about making this video. The first was the visual parallel of Chani caressing her son’s face and Leto caressing Paul’s on Caladan. I’m very excited to see the parent-child dynamic at play in this film. The second thing I loved was the chants at the beginning, starting with the “ATREIDES!” chant from part one, and I blended it into the “MUADDIB!” chant from Part Three. This change reflects the narrative change in the films, showing a civilization that used to chant the name of a family that represented their ideals, versus the civilization on arrakis that is chanting a single man’s name. Power has been consolidated into one image, one name. @dunemovie comes out in 48 days. 🎵: 20200229 2 by Mac DeMarco #dune #dunepartthree #denisvilleneuve #movies #scifi
