You cannot continue producing performances like this and expect everybody to keep making excuses for you. “The first half had a few bright sparks. There was some energy, some attacking intent and moments where United looked capable of competing. But the second half? An absolute disgrace. “I watched a team that looked completely lost. No urgency, no organisation, no leadership and, most importantly, no fight. Chelsea didn’t have to be extraordinary. United simply made it too easy for them. “Dalot was nowhere near the standard required. His decision-making, his positioning and his contribution were simply not good enough. At some point, we have to stop pretending that every player deserves endless opportunities because they wear this shirt. “And Bruno Fernandes was incredibly frustrating. This is your captain! This is the man who is supposed to lead when things become difficult. Instead, we saw wasteful passes, unnecessary giveaways and decisions that put his teammates under more pressure. “You cannot demand responsibility from everyone else and then fail to take responsibility yourself. If you’re wearing that armband, you have to set the standard. “But Carrick must also answer serious questions. What exactly was the plan in that second half? What were the tactical adjustments? Why did Manchester United look so uncomfortable whenever Chelsea increased the pressure? “I’m tired of hearing that the manager needs more time while the club continues to repeat the same mistakes. If Carrick cannot get a response from these players, then difficult decisions have to be made. But let’s not pretend changing another manager will magically fix everything. “The recruitment has been questionable, the squad is unbalanced, and some players have become far too comfortable. Manchester United need a serious clear-out. There are players in that dressing room who should be questioning whether they deserve to wear this shirt. “Look at the standards this club once represented. We used to go into difficult away games expecting to compete, expecting to fight and expecting to win. Now we’re discussing whether Manchester United can survive another embarrassing afternoon. “At some point, somebody has to build something!
