He would be at least the seventh. Some say, "Yes, but they died again, Jesus did not die again, so He is still first." But the Bible does not say "first to rise and never die again." It simply says "first to rise from the dead," "firstborn from the dead," "firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." In a physical resurrection, first means first in time. The only way Jesus can truly be the first to rise from the dead is if His resurrection was a different KIND of resurrection from all those before Him. Those before Him rose from physical death — physical resurrection. Jesus rose from spiritual death and spiritual resurrection. He was the first to rise from spiritual death, from separation from God, back into the presence of the Father. No one before Him had ever done that. That is why He is the firstfruit. That is why He is the firstborn from the dead. That is why all the prophets and Moses prophesied that the Christ would suffer and He would be the first to rise from the dead.
