Servers do NOT pay for walkouts! I’ve worked in sooo many restaurants, corporate and non-corporate, and never seen a server have to cover a tab. The manager doesn’t pay either! The bill gets voided, and the restaurant takes the loss on the wasted food ONLY. It’s no different than food being sent back and thrown away. That’s IT. They void the check and move on!

Don't feel bad. IHOP doesn't make the servers pay when people skip on the check. Granted, she did lose out on a probably 5 dollar tip.

the other day someone paid me a really nice compliment and it brightened my day. I need to incorporate that into my day to day life, because youre right. I can't fix all the big problems in peoples lives but I could always work to be kinder everyday
