Her point is that female choice drove our evolution, so the imbalance isn't women's fault. But even in the hunter-gatherer era she's talking about, most first marriages were arranged by families. Studies of nearly 200 forager societies found around 85% had parents or kin arranging marriages, mainly to build alliances between groups. Then for the last 10,000 years, arranged marriage driven by resources and power was the norm. Women freely choosing partners is very recent in human history. Female choice played a part in our evolution, but so did families and men competing with each other. Most of men's size and strength comes from that competition, not from women selecting them. Her own argument actually supports the imbalance. If women favour men with resources, and resources are held by fewer men, attention ends up concentrated on fewer men too. Dating apps make that worse. Do men carry a lot of the blame for the rise in incels? Yes. But it's a societal problem, not just a men's one. For clarity, I'm not saying arranged marriage should come back. I'd just like to see people choosing partners with building a life together in mind, and with more realistic expectations on both sides.

In a capitalist, free-market society, the principle is simple: If your product isn’t selling, you improve your offer, your product or your marketing. You don’t blame consumers for having standards or ask them to lower their expectations. The dating market is no different. Nobody is entitled to be chosen, and nobody is obligated to lower their standards to accommodate someone else's expectations.
