@builderbrigade: Your builder insulates the outside walls. The inside walls typically remain empty..nothing. So you hear every toilet flush, every dryer cycle, every late-night TV through the bedroom wall.
A big one nobody considers is the drain pipe in the wall coming from the upstairs bathroom. Water rushing down a plastic pipe sounds like a waterfall when the wall is hollow. Ask them to wrap it.
You don’t need it everywhere. Bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry, and the office. That’s where it pays off the most.
Ask during framing. Once drywall goes up, that door is closed 😉
My Ultimate Home Building Checklist reminds you to ask for all the easily overlooked details like this it’s too late.

Would adding a dehumidifier to the bathroom areas of a house help decrease the chance of mold? How would that look? Is that installed in the roof? Where does that drain out to.
