@adaonanuga: Some of the people who have fought hardest for my career have been women. Women who trained me, challenged me, spoke up for me and put their credibility behind my growth. So when I hear “women don’t support women,” I think about how much that statement leaves out. Have I had difficult experiences with women? Absolutely. But those experiences cannot erase the women who have helped me become who I am today. We can talk honestly about the hurt without making it the whole story. Especially when there are women opening doors, making introductions and advocating for us in rooms we haven’t entered yet. I know those women. I have benefited from their support.
