This is insane, watching from Croatia... If you're sick - you're sick, and you stay home with at least 70% of your pay, up to 30 days paid by your employer, then less and paid by the health insurance, but still if you need it you get it. Vacation days are separate, between 20 and 30, not counting in religious and bank holidays.
