@builderbrigade: 🛑 Don't Build a House without seeing my Checklist… 👉 Get it at BuilderBrigade.com My name on the plans… right address… totally wrong house 😳 Here's what I wish I knew back then… builders are running a business, and nobody cares about your house as much as you do. You hire a builder and assume it'll all go smoothly. But new construction is honestly a miracle in the making with all the trades and pieces coming together. That doesn't mean your builder is bad. Another set of eyeballs is always best. Have a system for spotting things that don't look right and bringing them up early… without coming across like a Karen 😅 Ask your builder for your own full set of finalized plans ASAP. And don't be afraid to ask about something that looks off. Best way to bring stuff up is once a week or every other week during your scheduled onsite meetings. You're not nagging them all week, and most small problems get fixed in a few days without you micromanaging. Big stuff before concrete gets poured? Text them that day. I pulled down our driveway bc I went EVERY SINGLE DAY, and the whole right side of our gazebo roof was hanging down where the supports gave in.
