@the.grapevine5: October 31, 2026, The Grapevine: A baby boy was born on board the MV Ma Lisha, the ferry that runs between Georgetown and the North West District, in the early hours of this morning. A woman travelling on the ferry began having labour pains at about 1:10 am, when the vessel was far out at sea off Shell Beach. The captain called for the Coast Guard to help her, and three women passengers stepped in to assist with the birth, which happened at 1:51 am. The Coast Guard met the ferry around 6:20 am near the Waini Inner Beacon and took the mother, her newborn and two of the women to Mabaruma Hospital for care.
