@majestic0013: Squeezing or dipping Naira notes into liquid jars is strictly illegal in Nigeria. Under Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, 2007, these actions are legally classified as "tampering," "defacing," and "willful abuse" of the national currency. The law explicitly includes squeezing and soiling (which covers staining or exposing banknotes to liquids like water, oils, or chemicals) as criminal offenses. ⚖️ The Penalties The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) heavily enforces these rules. If convicted of abusing the Naira in this manner, an individual faces: • A minimum of six months imprisonment • A fine of not less than ₦50,000 • Both the fine and jail time The Central Bank of Nigeria mandates that the Naira must be kept clean and flat, and warns citizens never to expose the banknotes to liquids or bundle them in ways that cause deliberate damage.#pensivesociety #foryoupage #majestic0013 #fyp
