I'm not waiting because I'm hoping that she'll come back one day. I'm waiting because she's all of me. The person I was when I was with her is not someone I can become on my own, even in private. Over the past 6 years I have realized that the sadness does go away eventually. You never stop missing them, but it kind of morphs from this heavy stressful pain to a soothing warmth. Some people may hate waiting at a red light, but waiting has gifted me with many sights I was missing previously. Even when I wake up in a cold sweat, I still feel grateful to have loved someone enough to grieve their absence. Some people don't even have that, so I try to relish in it.
