@forgottenillinois: Old Chicago Amusement Park Old Chicago: Illinois’ Indoor Amusement Park Under a Giant Dome Old Chicago opened in Bolingbrook in 1975 as a massive indoor combination of amusement park, shopping mall, restaurants, and entertainment. Beneath its giant dome were rides like the Chicago Loop, Ferris wheel, log flume, and dozens of other attractions. But financial problems came quickly, and the park closed in 1980 after only five years. The building was demolished in 1986. Do you remember Old Chicago? That place was awesome but they never got the anchor stores. The circle of stores that they did have kind of sucked. The rides were great!
