I sometimes do this affectionately, specifically by referring to my spouse as "Mr. Chan" like we're married Victorians. "I was going to go to the store today, because Mr. Chan promised me homemade Pad Thai if I brought home some bean sprouts."

I like the other version of Nicholasnames where you extend their name/nickname in a comedic way for fun or to mock while you're angry. eg: Harry (full name) becomes Harold or Harrison or Hardware or Hargreaves or Harbourside Cafe... just very silly and fun and can be a little fun if the recipient is open to playfulness so when they go back to Harry its jarring.
