@authenticteecee2.0: SO WE MAKING BAT WINGS NOW?… come on yall don’t even have to do that?!!! 😩😩 (BLACK CHICKEN IS REAL) #foodreview #foodmyth #halloween #halloweenfood #scarysnacks WARNING: this video is not made to be appealing, appeasing, or a real recipe. I was scrolling and saw people putting black food coloring on chicken, and y’all know I like to learn. One day last year I was on YouTube watching videos about rare animals—I actually did a video on the Ayam Cemani and the Silkie chicken before. So this year, when I saw folks painting chicken black, I thought, “Oh, they learned about the chicken!” but then… they didn’t. That sounded like a learning moment to me, and I’m never passing up a good learning moment. So let’s talk Ayam Cemani and hit you with some wild facts: • The Ayam Cemani is a rare Indonesian chicken from Java with a genetic condition called fibromelanosis that makes it hyper-pigmented—skin, comb, wattles, meat, bones, and even organs are black. • The eggs are NOT black. (I said that, but that was a mistake) They’re cream to light beige. • The black color comes from overexpression of the EDN3 gene— • LASTY, In Indonesia, they’ve had cultural and ceremonial value. Ayam Cemani was thought to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds.. on some scary type 💩
