A 44-year-old Singaporean woman accused of trying to cheat JTC Corporation was charged on Nov. 6 in connection with investigations into Cambodia-based Prince Holding Group, which has been linked to transnational scam operations. Chen Xiuling, also known as Karen Chen, faces charges of attempted cheating and instigating another person to falsify accounts. She was arrested at Changi Airport the day before, police said. Chen was a director of several Singapore-registered companies believed to be beneficially owned by the syndicate's founder and chairman, Chen Zhi. According to CNA, court documents showed that Chen allegedly instigated an employee of Capital Zone Warehousing to falsify an agreement stating that Cars and Coffee Gem Pte Ltd would invest S$23 million in Capital Zone Warehousing over 3 years. She is also accused of submitting the false agreement to JTC in an attempt to deceive it into assigning a property to Skyline Investment Management. Chen faces up to 10 years' jail for each offence if convicted. She could also be fined for instigating the falsification of accounts, while attempted cheating carries a mandatory fine. Police said more than S$700 million in assets linked to Prince Holding Group have been seized or placed under prohibition of disposal orders in Singapore to date. #mothershipnews #singapore #crime #police #cambodia
