I’m from the UK, but was in the US for Halloween one year. I was dressed as a vampire in heels and was chased by a someone in a bunny suit with a chainsaw. Another group consisted of kids and one threw up in someone else’s garden. Definitely another level from rural English Halloween 🤣

My neighborhood we don’t usually have any kids around even when I was little so I would go around my Nana’s neighborhood. The scariest was definitely the guy who would sit on his porch every year and try to grab your arm when you try to grab candy and then one year I decided to be brave and go up. He decided to do something different by hiding under his car and trying to grab our feet. Our chaperone was definitely a little mad at him for scaring me so badly she did yell at him, but still a memory I will never forget.

I’m a millennial but I don’t remember my neighborhood having a scary house 😅 I also lived on a dead end street, and the street it was off of was busy (cars still go flying through the stop sign all the time), so I don’t think I walked on that street or any of the other nearby ones very often, I think I only did our street a lot of the time. I don’t think anyone had any actual scary houses, though, with them grabbing your hand or anything like that, they just did decorations and that was about it.

My house has been the scary house for decades. At this point it's generational. People who grew up here bring their kids back. It's amazing. I've loved scaring the crap out of people. My favorite was when I dressed as a jester and chased a grown man down the street 😂

I think it’s probably cause we Aussie’s don’t really do Halloween, it’s been becoming more common (no one does it because it’s an American thing) but that seems really fun (except for falling off the stairs)

There was a house near me with DOZENS of mannequins. The owner would dress up as a different one every year and wait. When you passed him, he would grab you and we would FREAK

Isn’t that the point of Halloween? Being scared and getting candy? Trunk or treats have ruined trick or treat IMHO. We only had 15 kids come by last night and some of my favorite memories from childhood were from trick or treating! ✨❤️

trying to trick or treat in Australia in the 90s was an experience- mostly angry and confused people, and one guy who answered the door naked...

One year someone dressed as a life sized Michael Myers, I thought he was fake, and once he started moving I sprinted back to the car and sobbed hysterically

Ironically the house we went to that scared everyone was a catholic owned church house. It was the best one. [Tears of joy]

there was a house near mine who created an entire haunted maze set up (i was on candy duty so i couldn’t go see it), and several years back in my days of trick or treating i’d been chased by multiple chainsaws (with the blades removed for safety) across multiple years and houses

If you don’t scream from fear at least a dozen times on Halloween, you’re not going it right 😂
