Ive have my bonus kids last year and this year on Halloween. We go trick or treating with Their mom and other dad 🤷🏻♀️

So we are in HC situation. But Halloween means so much to me and thankfully it has fallen on my days for years. The last two years he has met us in town and walked with me and our daughters. We barely speak. But he’s there. This year he had a gf so I didn’t even ask him. However, in exchange, I’ve never had Thanksgiving with our girls. It always falls on his day and I don’t have family and he does (and they are our daughters family obviously) so I just always dress them up in the morning and send them with him and his family and he brings them back around 730. It’s never discussed. This is just the way it’s been for years.

Honestly the only time I have thought boo baskets are appropriate. Unfortunately Halloween is my bday. I’ve spent it with an ex for the last 13 years (mine and now my husbands). This is one day I won’t miss about the kids getting older

We don't alternate Halloween, which means I probably already had my last trick-or-treat time with my son and didn't even know it, since he's now 15. When he was little, if I wasn't going to have him that day it was super easy because I could find a trunk-or-treat event to take him to!

OMG I know it’s just a day, just a holiday, but that is long time to not have them for that specific day. My husband is supposed to have his kids every weekend, yeah that hasn’t happened in a while. Halloween falls on a Saturday, and sure enough we don’t have them this year. His daughter said well you had me last year, that’s because it’s a weekend!

What’s really hard for us, is that we have an ours baby and I have my step son. So for instance Christmas morning, he’s with his momma, we don’t want our baby not celebrating that day but also feel guilty not wanting. 😭

This. It’s our year for Halloween but bonus son’s mom never knows what the agreement says. She made plans anyway and we just agreed to split the night with her. Annoying yes, but not the end of the world and now our life won’t be a living hell for the next month 😂
