@soqhietherese: peak catholic fall season🕯️🖤 #catholic #mementomori #catholictiktok #allsaintsday #allsoulsday

Allison :

Love this. Just incase someone unfamiliar with the Catholic Church sees it, those in purgatory died in God's grace and are guaranteed heaven, but are undergoing the final stage of sanctification in the presence of God where they are detached from worldly sinful attachments etc. We aren’t praying for them to be saved bc they already are, their fate is sealed when they die. We are praying for saved christians who have died during this process scripture speaks of with the fire of God testing their life’s work before entering heaven (1 Corinthians 3:13) the same way we pray for those on earth that are going through something.
