@havenpresley: For the longest time, I really struggled with the idea of Halloween and whether or not I wanted my kids to participate. 🥹 But this year I realized I might have been making it a lot deeper than it needed to be. (no judgement if you believe it is that deep) but to me, through their little eyes, it was simply dressing up as their favorite characters, walking around the neighborhood, knocking on doors, and getting candy. And let me tell you, the JOY on their faces. 😭 I’m learning that sometimes motherhood means getting out of your own head and seeing things through your kids’ eyes. It doesn’t mean compromising what you believe, but sometimes it means realizing things can be a lot simpler than you’ve made them.
