you guys have every right to call it performative if it makes it easier but when I was a child and I cried for things like this, I was bullied by the kids in my school and received threats. That’s why I spoke on issues like this on social media even before getting monetized (a couple weeks ago). I get threats all the time and I cry nearly everyday as an empath. It’s not a weapon, it’s a display of humanity. The sun won’t get to us, you all will

the “American Dream” is a lie tbh. better opportunities (coming from a Haitian immigrant), yes, but there’s so much to pay for it 😕

And I can’t even blame our corrupt leaders back in Africa. Because as an African don’t I deserve to travel, to explore. I grew up in Nigeria surrounded by immigrants from all over the world (my dad worked in shell, so lots of foreign workers) we NEVER treated anyone like this, we would celebrate their festivals even if it was only one family from that country, we would have mass in French and Spanish to make the European immigrants feel included, hell we would go against our own cultural values and celebrate Halloween and dress up like demons and scary characters just so their children can grow up like they would’ve in their country of origin. And my whole life I thought this was normal only to come here for school and I’m treated like a pest, an “alien” a cancer. From both the whites and blacks 😭 and when I speak up they tell me it’s because us Africans are weak that is why we accept people.

I experienced the same thing when I moved here from Kenya and it’s hard to see yourself when you go through bullying like even when you’re not experiencing it anymore it’s hard to empathise with yourself. He deserved so much better, he deserved to live a fruitful life beyond the experience he was having :(

i respect you so much for speaking up about this and spreading awareness on this topic. as a west african with immigrant parents, i understand how important it is to have people who are willing to speak on these issues and bring attention to things that often go overlooked. i really appreciate you using your platform to educate others and stand up for our communities. it means a lot to see people who aren’t afraid to speak out, especially when these conversations are so important and deserve to be heard!!🩷
