@justinwolfers: Most recessions don't come from something predictable. They come from something random: an earthquake, a microbe in China, a financial crash nobody saw coming. That's when you need the firefighters to rush in. I'm not sure America has a very good set of firefighters. Tariffs, budget deficits, rising bond yields, high energy prices, an immigration shock: most of the fires in the US right now were started by the administration.
Wait til the BBB provisions kick in after the midterms, and 20-30 million Americans are booted out of the economy when the benefit programs cut off.

Most recessions aren’t even called that because bureaucrats have changed the way the metrics are calculated. They say unemployment is 4.3% then have the audacity to compare it to points in history. If measured the same way it was in 1993, it would be north of 23%.

we can begin to fix things in the United States, if we can win these midterm elections including the Congress and the Senate. we can minimize Trump's power. he'll still do stupid things but we have the ability to push back aggressively.

The fire starters, the joy riders. The moral hazard morons. The chaos injectors. The double-downers, the zone-flooders are in charge. Don’t like the recession? We can print dollars. Don’t like hyperinflation? We can engineer a depression to remove the demand. Don’t like depression, well you can’t complain if you don’t have internet and don’t have food. Don’t like famine it’s another country’s fault— let’s nuke them. 🤡

I think more people need to understand what financial independence actually means, and @Katrina || SAHM of 5️⃣ does a great job bringing attention to the subject. Definitely worth checking out if FIRE is something you’ve been researching.
