you stopped. you prayed. you genuinely wanted to change. then, weeks later, you fell into the same sin again. and now you're questioning something deeper than the failure itself. were you ever truly repentant? because if you were really sorry, wouldn't you have stopped? and if you really wanted to change, why did you go back? it's a reasonable question. but consider Peter. he told Jesus he was ready to go to prison and even die with Him. hours later, he denied knowing Him. Peter's confidence was greater than his strength. but his denial did not become the final word about him. in John 21, Jesus called him to follow Him again. now consider a different possibility. what if someone confesses only because the consequences frighten him, while intending to return to the same sin? both men may feel terrible. both may cry. both may promise to change. their emotions alone cannot tell us whether they are turning away from sin. Paul wrote that godly sorrow produces repentance. in 2 Corinthians 7:11, he points to the earnest response that followed the Corinthians' sorrow. so the question is not simply, 'did i fall again?' ask instead: 'am i making peace with this sin, or am i still willing to confront it and turn away?' if you've fallen again, don't defend it. don't hide it. confess it, examine what led to it, and take the next step of obedience. your failure needs an honest response, not a verdict you cannot pronounce on your own heart. #creatorsearchinsights #prayerforstrengthandhealing #returntogod #trustinggod - @brothereliaswrites
