Teaching fifth grade only gives you insight into the first semester of sixth grade… Second semester sixth graders through seventh grade is it its own beast… Eighth grade is kind of like freshman

Also I do think AP would be hard sometimes because at that point you 100% will have some students who are actually smarter than you. It would be hard to navigate that.

Middle school ELA is rough. Behavior is terrible, they are not performing on grade level, and over 100 things to grade with every assignment. Pressure with state tests and the amount of modifications I need to make bc of the different levels is insane. But the grading…that’s the worst

I think you’re spot on except K is harder than first because Kindergarten students come in as “unknowns,” and we are figuring out who needs evaluations/services/etc. By first, most students have interventions in place. But you are SO right overall!! 💜 #Kteacherfor32years!
