@fanficsandfriends: Fanfiction Fun Fact Fridays may be gone for a while . . . due to matinence 🥴 #ao3 #fanfiction #fanfics #ao3shutdown #ao3shutdownof2026

Fae of the Wild :

You could talk about how people are forming massive google drive archives to share in our time of need

Mezmo :

Talking about the AO3 Curse?

Pgravyp :

More like fanfiction agony fridays

starboardwhisper :

no, don't stop! do evdn more videos so we have some distraction 😁 there is so much interesting research on fandom and fanfiction culture! or you could interview guests about their favourites, how they first get into fanfics, or find some granny fanfic readers and or research on tiktok about the most hilarious stories people posted about fanfictions and make a stitch. there are extremely funny ones where authors and readers post about their highly professional jobs.

Waste_Of_Bandages :

I went as the Ao3 is down post for Halloween.

dumbtomato1 :

I think the history of fanfics or fun facts about fanfic community could be cool! We must do something until our wife gets back from war

Catherine Tanguay🍉 :

It’s been 4 days and I do have like 600 Dramione fics on my iPad… but it’s not the same you know. We as humans need ao3. It is not a desire, it is a need

Foulssnake :

the history of fanfic maybe

the_whovian16 :

How about talking about OLD classical fanfiction! ... Like Dante's Inferno!

stolen_flame :

why not talk about how it used to be before AO3. Not better, but different. How the reaction of a single author to fanfic of her books led to fanfic authors even today posting disclaimers at the top of their fic. How much fanfic we have *lost* because personal and group websites disappeared, or free web servers closed. In fact working to archive some of those works is another thing AO3 does. Have you heard of estrogen brigades? Or webrings? There is so much fanfic and fandom history that doesn't depend on AO 3, amazing as they are.

resetbutton321 :

Talk more about the Housewives of Fanfiction please

Vess :

Use the way back machine

Lauren Rose :

Guess I'm going to have to read the books on my TBR for a hot second!

Rothdog The Gamer :

Nana :

Emma Odessa :

you could talk about all the classical literature that is fanfiction....Shakespeare

My Dear Lady Disdain :

You could talk about how the birth of modern fanfiction first started because of The Original Star Trek. TLDR: TOS fans loved the show sooo much that they would write their own little stories about episodes/characters and then mail them to each other—and then! mail each other back with thoughts, responses, commentary, and/or their *own* stories! And the first piece of fanfiction to be posted on the Internet was in fact based on TOS. We have A03 because of Star Trek 🖖
