I think some people that are obsessed with the idea of being in a relationship just wants someone to choose them, to want them. A relationship is a sign of that- someone choosing you.

As an only child. I always craved to have a person constantly with me because I was never left alone as a child so going from that to teenage years made me just always want someone there when my parents weren’t there. I’ve been in 4 relationships since I was 13 (19 now) and only had a max 4 month gap between them. I’ve always craved to be with someone and have that person so I don’t feel alone. But came with that is a massive fear of abandonment. However this year has taught me a lot of lessons and that not being in a relationship is okay and I will find my person who is meant for me when the time is right. But I’ve learned now I need to work on myself because with everything that happened in my relationships I hated myself more and more. From now on and into the future I will continue to only focus on myself until I am in the right place in my life. I need to be okay in my own company.
