I‘m a history teacher and I simply asked the question „who sold the slaves to the white man?“ and my class was shocked when they realized it‘s literally not a black and white topic to discuss haha also I‘m half Irish and I tell them that my people were pretty much the first slaves the British had. Couldn‘t get any whiter than that and further from the image in their mind of what colonialism looked like and how capitalistic slavery is
